Paint Correction
What is Paint Correction?
Paint Correction is the removal of a very small amount of clear coat. This requires a two stage process. The use of a compound to remove the majority of defects. This step often leaves a “haze” in the paint. To correct the haze a finishing polish will be used to leave a brilliant clear finish. A paint correction would be required to remove any deeper scratches that may be in the clear coat. Be aware this will NOT fix any scratches that are past the clear coat and into the color coat.
What is Paint Enhancement?
Paint enhancement is the removal of microns of clear coat to remove the majority surface defects including all oxidation and most swirls in one stage using only a finishing polish. This is also likely able to remove some water spots, bird dropping stains and any other defect that has barely etched too far into the clear coat.
Why Should I Have Paint Correction or Enhancement Done To My Vehicle?
Some form of paint correction is highly recommended when applying a ceramic coating. It will also make a big difference if done before applying the next coat of a wax or sealant. A fresh, defect free layer of clear coat will allow any coating to cure to the paint much better and last longer than it would to a surface that was not prepared properly before applying a new layer of protection.
