What is a Ceramic Coating?
A ceramic coating is the best form of protection for preserving the original look of your car’s paint. When compared to traditional waxes/sealants, they offer greater protection against UV rays, bird droppings, tree sap, corrosion, and more while also lasting years longer as they bond at the molecular level to the clear coat. There are two types of ceramic coatings, consumer grade and professional grade.
Difference from a Consumer and a Professional Coating
The difference from a consumer grade and professional grade coating is the longevity and durability of the coating. Consumer coatings are also not warrantied. Most consumer coatings last up to two years and will need to be reapplied to the vehicle after they have failed.
Some professional coating companies offer lifetime warranties on the premier coating(s) of their lineup. They typically will have to be inspected annually to keep the warranty to ensure the coating is being maintained properly.
Benefits of a Ceramic Coating
Enhanced depth of paint - Always looks wet
Extreme hydrophobics - water rapidly sheets and beads off paint
Self cleaning ability - contaminants that fall on the coating will not stick or some that do can be removed by simply using water
Can offer minimal resistance to swirl mark, minor scratches, and marring.
Best form of protection against UV rays.
High chemical resistance
What does a Ceramic Coating Cost?
Ceramic coatings are very expensive for many reasons budt they are the best form of protection for paint.
Our prices on coatings range from $550- $1400 for cars and $750-$1650 for SUVs/trucks/vans.
Here are some reasons why professional grade coatings are expensive:
Any detailer certified by a professional grade coating has been to and often paid fees to become certified by a company. These trainings are very long and intense.
We are experts on these coatings and can easily be applied incorretly or not buffed off properly causing a “high spot” if an inexperienced installer applies a proffesional grade ceramic coating.
This meticulous process is very time consuming and has to done properly or the results could be disappointing.

FAQ
Q - Are these coatings really permanent?
A - Yes, System X® Ceramic Coatings should be thought of as adding another clear coat to the paint's surface. This new clear coat is glossier, chemical resistant, and harder than the original clear coat. System X® is a permanent coating in the same sense that the clear coat on your car is permanent. Eventually the clear coat will wear away over the years; its overall longevity depends on conditions, cleaning frequency, proper application, and maintenance.
Q - What is the advantage of System X® over a clear coat that already provide gloss and color retention?
A - System X® provides advanced gloss and protection over clear coats. The ceramic bonded coating helps contaminants slide off easily, which gives them less time to eat into the surface. An added plus is the ease of cleaning your vehicle. An easy way to think of it would be that System X® is the equivalent of another, harder, glossier, self-cleaning clear coat layer.
Q - Do I need a special soap to wash my ceramic coated car?
A - No special washing, soap, or shampoo is required. Using an automated car wash is fine as well - touch-less automated car washes are preferred as automated contact car washes often have debris and stone chips left in the brushes/cloth from infrequent maintenance. This could result in scratching and marring of the coating or maybe into the clear coat under the coating. A good hand wash utilizing a two bucket method with good quality microfiber mitts or towels is always preferred to keep the car looking it’s best!
Q - Can I wax or seal on top of my System X® ceramic coating?
A - Yes, if desired waxing and sealing over System X® coatings won’t damage it. However, this could mask the properties and advantages of the ceramic coating. If you insist on applying a “topper”, be sure to let System X® coatings cure for at least 4 days before applying another product. Also, make sure to use products that do not contain abrasives or solvents. System X Renew™ is a great option along with other ceramic coating “topper”.
